The very next day, I parked my car at the same parking area and when we returned after our shopping, my car was missing. I had to make a police report the stolen car and forward an insurance claim .
Then we received this email yesterday:
WARNING FROM POLICE

Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating..... You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. When you get into your car, you notice a lipstick mark on the front or back windscreen. Many drivers do not take this seriously and end up just wiping those lipstick stains off.
This is a new syndicate making their rounds in Malaysia. This lipstick stain is a marking for the syndicate members to identify which car to be stolen or car jacked. This new method has been discovered already in Penang , Malacca , KL and JB.
Be careful if you see the lipstick mark on your windscreen. This means your car has already been marked and could be stolen from under your very eyes , even in the car park. You are advised not to leave your parking ticket in the car in any carpark and if you discover that your car had already been marked by the lipstick stain, please be advised to install a reputable alarm system in your car to deter the
thieves.
